Project 1: Animal & Silly Walker

Purpose

Students learn the different LEGO componets by building a LEGO animal in this optional activity. Students learn advance building and basic programming by running the motors and building a "Silly Walker."

Silly Walks

Build a robot that moves without wheels.

LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 kit but no wheels allowed

  1. Silly Walks Activity Guide
  2. Motors program - on brick control: when this program is running on the EV3, one can control the motors by pressing the EV3 buttons. This enables the activity to be conducted without a computer or on-brick programming. Simply download the program onto the EV3 bricks beforehand. 
  3. Silly Walks program - This is a digital workbook that guides students through the activity in the EV3 software interface.
